Appearance:Melinda is a little thinner than usual, not because she tries to be, but it is just something natural for her. She is also a bit short, at a little over 5 feet tall.
In the Digital World:
In the Real World, she tends to wear baggy jeans, her blue and pink converse, and brightly-coloured t-shirts with characters or phrases on them. If it's cold, she wears a grey zip-up sweater with multi-coloured stars on it.
Personality:As a result of what has passed, Melinda struggles to trust people she meets, even though she sometimes wishes she could do it, it's become a natural instinct not to. She also has a low self-esteem, and struggles to see her own good qualities.
Despite not being able to open up to people easily, Melinda is naturally a very caring and gentle person, who will stand up for what she believes in without even stopping to think about it. She is also a natural clutz, and trips over a lot, as well as knocking things down.
The one Melinda trusts the most, over everyone else, is likely to be Zakunimon, though she can't really explain why. Her and her digimon partner just sort of clicked. Zakunimon doesn't like seeing Melinda sad, and is fairly good at cheering her up and making her smile. But the digimon seems to be the only one that can do that for her

History:Melinda was born originally in Oban, Scotland, but moved to Cornwall, England before she turned one, as her parents ended up going through a very messy divorce, and her father ended up with Melinda, while her mother ran off with another man.
Growing up, Melinda was always one of the quietest in a group of people, but she had a fair few friends nonetheless. Because of her father's attitudes rubbing off on her, she became the sort of person who was able to trust more easily than most could. Eventually, this lead to her own downfall, though, when she moved into high school, and a group of older students 'befriended' her. Being naive, she truly believed they were her friends. However, one night, whilst they were at the local park, having stolen a lot of beer and vodka from the local store, they spotted Melinda walking past, and told her to come over. Seeing that they were drunk, she refused, and tried to get away. One of them, a girl named Tory, ended up hitting Melinda with a broken bottle, in the stomach, and leaving her there. A passer-by saw it happen, and phoned the emergency services.
The next thing Melinda knew, she was waking up in a hospital with a bandage around her. Although her father tried to comfort her, nothing seemed to work.
Melinda transferred schools, but afterwards she wouldn't speak to anyone at all. She was ashamed of herself, for trusting them despite her better judgement. Her self-esteem fell dramatically, as she felt like it was her own fault it had happened.
If she had stayed with her father, she might of gotten through it, but it turned out that her father had been working with smugglers, getting things into the UK that shouldn't be. Because he was sent to jail for it in the end, Melinda was sent through a few care homes before her mother was finally tracked down, and she was sent to her.
Her mother had married the man she had run off with, and now had three other daughters, as well as Melinda. Because Melinda looked so much like her father, she stood out from the rest of them, like an outcast. Which was exactly how she felt. She didn't get on with her three younger siblings; Rose, Anna and Imogen, so spent most of her time alone, not only at home, but at her new school as well, where she didn't fit in, and was left to be with her own thoughts and nothing else.
She met her digimon a short while ago, after her laptop had suddenly lit up of it's own accord, and a small electrical object and an egg had appeared on her desk. The egg hatched about a day later.

Partner's personality-Zakunimon, or 'Zaku' as Mel often calls her, is fairly happy-go-lucky and carefree. She treats Melinda as her best friend, and can be very protective of her at times. Zaku is fairly talkative, and she tends to think about important things before rushing into something. She is incredibly loyal, and also tries to help Melinda to open up to people more.
In the Real World, she stays in her in-training stage, Rapomon.
